CHECKUP
Here at Ashgrove Dental Clinic we recommend that you have a check-up every 6-12 months to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
During your check-up we will do a visual inspection of your teeth and gums to check for gum disease and other potential problems that may have arisen since your last visit.
During the examination we will take a note of any fillings or cavities in your teeth that are present and any specific areas that we want to keep an eye on.
We would also recommend that you visit our dental hygienist to have your teeth scaled, cleaned and polished every six months. This helps to remove the build-up of any tartar which can be difficult to remove with simple flossing and brushing. This treatment also helps remove any stains on your teeth and greatly reduces the risk of problems developing such as decay, gum disease etc.
Our hygienist is also on hand to answer any questions you may have and to offer advice on caring for your teeth and gums at home.
If it is your first visit to Ashgrove Dental Clinic, we will conduct a more thorough check of your teeth and the surrounding tissues and carry out a cancer screen together with an assessment of both dental and gum health.
Dental x-rays are often required at this initial stage to assist in both diagnosis and formulation of a treatment plan. You shall be informed at your first visit of what treatment is required, number of visits, cost and implication of not having treatment carried out.
