The mandatory wearing of gum shields and mouth guards for all under age players participating in rugby and hockey has been compulsory for a number of years. In 2014, the GAA introduced to the compulsory wearing of sports guards for all its members. Dr. Fearon has assisted a number of GAA teams in the custom fitting of gum shields and mouth guards which have proven extremely successful.
 
Gum shields and mouth guards are available in a variety of colours and colour combinations. They can be fabricated at Ashgrove Dental Clinic without the associated extra cost of an external laboratory.
