Root canal treatment or therapy is carried out when the pulp (the nerve inside a tooth) is either inflamed or dead. The purpose of root canal treatment is to remove the inflamed tissue or bacteria inside the root canal and thus allow the surrounding tissues to heal.
How many visits will be needed?
Most simple cases that have not been root canal treated before, can be completed in one-two visits. More complex treatments and particularly re-treatments may require two or three visits.
